Mini Gigglers’ Room Routine

Mini Gigglers’ Room follows the Early Years curriculum enabling us to ensure a planned programme tailored to the needs of each child. We also set time aside for each child to work on a one to one basis with a keyworker to support the children’s development at their own pace. Throughout the daily activities the children will learn different skills.

Creative Development The children will learn colour recognition and develop their fine motor skills by gaining control of holding pencils and crayons. The activities include a variety of painting techniques and include group work on projects, collages and our monthly topics. The children will learn to use clay, playdough, dry pasta, make junk models, etc.

Physical Development Children will develop their fine and gross motor skills through music and movement. They will have opportunities to play physical activities in our outdoor activity area. The children will be able to learn to ride bikes, scooters or manage to drive their toy cars.

Language Development The children will be encouraged to sit and listen to stories in small groups and individually with a member of staff to talk about the stories and learn from the pictures. The development of language will take place through social interaction with staff and peers. Mathematical concepts will be developed through children’s play activities.

Imaginative Development The home corner and dressing up allows for imaginative play, enacting roles from real life situations, e.g. shops, police, firefighters, mums and dads, doctors and nurses etc. Our small world play will also give children the opportunity to extend on their imagination and develop their co-ordination.

Social Development In all of the above activities the children will learn certain social skills which are essential for them for later life. In their group activities children will have to take turns, listen to each other, share toys and take directions from the adults.

We can't thank you enough for all you have done for xxxx over  the past few years. She has been with you since she was a baby and she has grown into a fantastic little girl ( with a big personality )! I know she will miss you all so much, but hopefully she will get to visit you all at various stages. You have been a brilliant nursery and we truly appreciate all you hard work.
